The 39 Steps was perfect for a relaxing Sunday lunch on Mother's day. They advertised 'Jazz' lunch and i thinkl the jazz band could of been a bit more prominent, they were stuck in teh corner of the bar and you couldn't even hear them once at your table. Valentines Night Dinner at the The 39 Steps was pretty good. Changed the Oyster appetiser without a fuss when asked. Service was a little slow, but it seems a few parties came at the same time. We sat a little too close to the veranda door which was chilly when people went out to smoke. Singer upstairs

Delicious food and service was excellent until we had to wait nearly half an hour for the bill and nearly missed our theatre booking! A real shame as the meal was absolutely lovely. I would go back though.
